Obesity is characterized by excessive storage of fat in the body. Increased fat deposition can lead to diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases, liver damage and kidney problems. It is mainly caused by sedentary life style and lack of physical activity. Other causes for obesity can be endocrine disorders, tumors or usage of psychotic drugs.
In Ayurveda, it is known as “Medoroga” which is caused by aggravated kapha.
