There are two types of viruses one is herpes simplex virus 1 and herpes simplex virus 2 also known As HSV-1 and HSV-2.
They can be spread when an infected person is producing and shedding the virus.
According to Ayurveda impurity of pitta along with that of blood is the main causative factor for the pathology to appear.
