Fluid made by glands inside the vagina and cervix carries away dead cells and bacteria. This keeps the vagina cleaning and helps in preventing infection. However if there is too much of white discharge with vaginal itching or burning sensation then one could be noticing as infection.
Continuous usage of antibiotics, birth control pills, diabetes, hormonal problems etc can cause white discharge.
