Endometriosis is a disorder in which the tissue that forms the lining of uterus grows outside of uterine cavity. The lining of uterus is called “Endometrium”. It occurs when the endometrium grows on ovaries, bowel and tissues lining the pelvis. It is often caused due to a process called “Retrograde menustruation”. This happens when menstrual blood flows back through fallopian tubes into pelvic cavity instead of leaving the body.
